GROUPS AND MEETINGS

The Alabama Gulf Coast offers the perfect mix of business and pleasure. With over two acres of meeting space, the area provides top-notch meeting facilities in a relaxing beach setting.

“We are a destination for state, regional and national associations as well as corporate events,” said Beth Gendler, Director of Sales at the Alabama Gulf Coast Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). “People find coming to the beach makes for a productive and fun meeting, which often times means bringing families along.”

Discover a Unique Venue

Break away from the traditional hotel meeting space, and try a unique meeting venue of a condominium. Aside from providing meeting space, these condominiums offer group discounts, which enables meeting or conference attendees to bring their families. A few condominium properties that boast large amounts of meeting space include The Beach Club (13,376 sq ft), Brett-Robinson (10,000 sq ft) and Caribe, The Resort (14,000 sq ft).

In addition, the area showcases a new Gulf State Park Pavilion complete with breathtaking views of the gulf waters and 2 miles of undisturbed, natural beach habitat. Meeting planners may rent this space—that offers 450 person maximum banquet capacity—any time of the year. Pavilion amenities include picnic tables, air conditioned bathrooms and a large concession stand (opened on a seasonal basis).

Also, The Wharf - a multi-use resort property in Orange Beach - opened its Conference Center in March 2009. Since the late October 2008 ground-breaking, crews have been hard at work on this facility. With approximately 27,000 square feet, the center is one of the largest on the Gulf Coast, seating more than 2,000 guests for a reception in the 18,600 square foot exhibition hall. A partitioned wall system divides this space into smaller meeting rooms. Other amenities include a green room, state-of-the-art video and visual technology and a catering kitchen. Already booked for 2009, this facility will host Student Life, a youth ministry organization, who will use the center from May through August for its summer camps.
